SCYTHE 6-HIT BUILDS & WHY I USE A DEATH SCYTHE +1

SCYTHE "X-HIT" BUILDS: 528 Delay Scythe: 7-hit: with 0 StoreTP 6-hit: /SAM+Brutal gives you the 16.+ StoreTP required for 6-hit without needing a WS as 1st hit. /WAR (or anything but /SAM), you could reach 6-hit with 2 of the 4 hits from Guillotine. You will need to use all the StoreTP a DRK can use: RajasRing +BrutalEarring +ChivalrousChainNeck +AskarKorazinBody +Attila'sEarring +EchporiaRing +BushidoCapeBack. 5-hit: impossible, even if you were to use StoreTP food. 513 Delay Scythe: 8-hit: with 0 StoreTP 7-hit: /Sam ......Actually, here it does make a difference: with a single-hit WS, you'd need 3 StoreTP, but with Guillotine, you don't need any, providing you land at least 3 hits. 6-hit: /SAM+Rajas does the trick. Once again, counting additional hits from Guillotine, you only need +16 (/SAM+Brutal), but you need to land all hits. Can't get 6-hit with any other sub. ....I use /sam+Brutal+Rajas+Chiv+Echporia Ring which nets me a true 6-hit build without counting any WS's as a hit.... This also allows me to switch to ws gear if I want when I WS and still get a 6-hit build while losing some of my store-tp from the gear switch on the WS hit. 5-hit: Even less possible. 501 Delay Scythe: 8-hit: with 0 StoreTP 7-hit: /SAM or Rajas+Brutal.....counting the hits 2 to 4 on Guillotine 6-hit: This is where it matters. First, can't get 6-hit without /SAM on this delay either, obviously. /SAM Need 23 StoreTP to get "regular" 6-hit. /SAM=+15 Rajas=+5 Brutal=+1 Askar=+5 Chivalrous=+1 Attila's Earring=+1 Can't get 6-hit with anyother sub. 5-hit: Forget about it ! NOTES: Attila's Earring: rather do without but you can now also use a Ecphoria Ring instead. Chivalrous Chain: it's not bad, but when you have a Justice Torque or PCC, you don't want to use it. Askar: Pretty nice, but you're sacrificing 13 to 25 Accuracy, depending on what you're using from this list: Edit: When I say 6-hit is impossible without /SAM on 513 and 501 delay, I'm not including StoreTP food. WHY I USE DEATH SCYTHE +1 OVER A TRED'S SCYTHE: TRED's SCYTHE: (DELAY 528) 1) Tred's Scythe has a hidden effect which is a garenteed Crit. on every 13th hit unless you miss or naturally crit on that hit anyway rendering the point of using this Scythe useless. 2) Dreizehn means thirteen in German and other Latin derived languages. 3) Further more Tred's bonus crit becomes less impressive the more ATK you have since Crits start showing less of an improvement the higher your pDIF is. Tred Scythe's extra DPS from the hidden effect is simply eaten alive by a DRK who has high ATK/STR stats and uses meat food on another Scythe. DEATH SCYTHE +1: DELAY 513 1) 98 Base Damage is the highest base damage Scythe except for the Relic Scythe and is tied with the same base damage as the Triton Scythe which only 2 have ever been sold on the Odin Server. 2) It also has a Drain effect that procs alot more often then people who don't own one actually know about. Depending on the mob I get normlly 35-65 additional damage and it gets added to my HP like a cure spell. Now some people argue this procs 0 damage when you have full HP but no matter what you do in this game your HP is never full for very long unless your are not in battle. You do not need to pull hate or tank to lose HP because most mobs in the game spam AOE spells, tp-ablities, tp-weapon skills, or use breath moves . 3) 513 delay seems to be the Kennedy Magik Bullet for a DRK Scythe delay for the most efficent 6-hit build. 4) I have seen many people do charts and charts and more charts of data and they always put the #1 ......300TP WS Scythe for highest spike damage as the Death Scythe +1. Once again I am not including the Relic Scythe. ...........I would like to point out that when the Tred Scythe was first introduced in the game the endgame gear was far worse then what we have today. If you take that and minus our 2-hand update you can see that the crit on a regular Scythe melee hit would have been a great deal more then it is today. Thus at that time a Tred's Scythe would have been better then a Death Scythe +1. However dispite old school Drks who like to proclaim that the Tred's Scythe > Death Scythe +1 (just like old dogs don't like to learn new tricks)..... today the best Scythe you can AH purchase is a DeathScythe +1. Also yes I have been on this game since the NA release on the PS-1 (1st day not the PC which was earlier). I however always went my own way with DRK and alot of the things I did was laughed at back then.... ...now most DRK's do those same things today. I'm not trying to promote myself.... just trying to promote other DRK's to try and be more open and to always keep adjusting your playing style. Do not succumb to being happy and ignorant to things that work today.... because they may be obsolete or less efficent tommorrow. You have one thing wrong about the Tred scythe. Crits are a modifier applied to the pDIF of the equation. So increasing your attack increases your Crit hit damage.

Let me rephrase to better explain. When a Crit hit occurs your pDIF is bumped up by 1 to the cap of 3.0. The problem is that no matter what your attack or STR is, on anything worth worrying about (merit mobs up to HNM) you are never going to hit the cap.

What i don't think you understand is what my crits are not the same as many DD crits ...here is an example of what a normal hit vs a crit actually looks like to my damage (minus the variables and fluxations):

normal hit: 287
crit hit: 345



If say my war was dual axing I notice the crits are like double the damage alot of the time.
