J.O.S (Jailer Of Smack)

Dynamisis Juno: ......................on this run there was a couple of wipes. Wipes are normal in a Dynamisis run especially during large pulls in which a NIN mob or SMN mob 2hours on your allaince. I'm sure alot people feel that a wipe is embarassing but who cares when you get the win and maximize all time restraints. Anyway wipe pictures are always fun and sometimes funny to look at. So here are a few wipe pics from this run for your enjoyment. On a side note I got my WAR hands which leaves me 2/5 on WAR relic gear now. The SKY is falling: ...............next up was a SKY run. One of the things that bothers me most about doing SKY with this LS is most of the leader members are all on VENT. This sometimes can get irratating when certain information is not passed onto the rest of the members......But non the less we still have a good time. Including last night, when a Doll NM decided to use a MeltDown AOE move, while my STUN recast was down and Ashhhhh's Headbunt got resisted. Apparently there is a new type of Gear build for Blu called a "Smacking-Build" . Crimsonking added to this and informed me that there is a NM in SEA called the Jailer Of Smacking. It drops the Smacking Torque for that 307 Elite Smacking Skillz. While we were discussing this awesome new Build for BLU.... I saw the oppurtunity to TEA-BAG RingThree ................ Kallo style. ...........................see you all online tonight ;)

It appears to be quite a common, and also erroneous assumption that Vent is used to control the workings of the linkshell while witholding that information from the rest of the linkshell.

Vent is merely a tool whereby I can direct leaders into different parts of events quickly, while then relating that information to the rest of the ls. Which is something I always strive to do.

There is no point at all in running a linkshell and not telling your members what they need to do or where they need to be. If nothing IS being communicated, it is because of a few things.

Reason 1. I am not saying anything. So there is nothing to communicate.

Reason 2. Something was said, and not enough attention was paid to notice it. This one happens fairly often, and it is not uncommon to redirect members after instructions have been relayed in both the linkshell AND the partychat.

Reason 3. Another common mistake is not announcing that people are in sky. OR that lack of an immediate reaction is a signifier of being ignored. This doesn't mean things are being plotted on Vent. It usually is just a situation where we are in the middle of something, and it isn't the perfect time to sort out an extra party. Although most of the time I do manage to explain that we are full or what ever the situation is, and that we will get that corrected as soon as possible.

Ultimately, if you don't know, you should ask. 90% of conversations on Vent are not linkshell related. Only 10% are. And I am VERY keen to make sure that what ever is said relevant to events is also made known to the linkshell.

Yes what Omoikitte is saying is 100% true. However you need to be on the othe side of the spectrum to see when sometimes it fails. When it fails we always ask but it does not take away from that it is irratating. ~BAM

This is why I said irratating and not counter productive ;)
